Nodes
The element has 4 to 8 nodes. Midside nodes may be omitted.
Each node has displacements $[u,v]$ and temperature $[T].$
Faces (Edges)
The element has 4 edges, which are (considering the nonzero thickness) regarded as faces. Face normals point outward from the element.
