Shell-solid connection
A fictitious element with a zero volume representing a mechanical connection of a semi-loof element $(\mathtt{ITE}=61)$ and a solid element $(\mathtt{ITE}=55$ or $56).$
; description of the connector element in the file name.i1 CN T INDF E IE IE$_1$ ID$_1$ IE$_2$ ID$_2$
| $\mathtt{INDF}$ | connection type identification number | |
|---|---|---|
| $=-2$ | edge connection | |
| $=-3$ | face connection | |
| $\mathtt{IE}$ | global index of the connector element | |
| $\mathtt{IE}_1$ | global index of the semi-loof element | |
| $\mathtt{ID}_1$ | local edge index of the semi-loof element | |
| $\mathtt{IE}_2$ | global index of the solid element | |
| $\mathtt{ID}_2$ | local edge or face index of the solid element | |
Note
The index of the connector element must be greater than the index of the connected semi-loof element.
Note
The connected face of the pentahedron or hexahedron must be quadrilateral with all eight nodes defined.
